Our people

We place a high priority on creating a diverse and inclusive global workforce. As a company, we are focused on benefits and programs that support our employees across the entire employee lifecycle, including recruitment and onboarding, well-being, learning and development.

Recruitment

Our recruiting processes are designed to ensure that we bring on employees who are aligned to our values and culture. Our comprehensive process, built upon our non-discrimination policy, helps us reduce bias and gather multiple viewpoints. This approach ensures fairness and respect in hiring, enabling us to maintain a diverse and inclusive workforce.

In 2020, we scaled and expanded an internal program to train employees to become objective “hiring experts” and to reduce unconscious bias in the hiring process, further advancing our commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility (DEI&A).

We also launched a new virtual onboarding and orientation program for new hires globally, which includes a multi-day immersion into our company, leadership, vision, culture, products and includes team building exercises.

Total Rewards

We believe in rewarding employees for their hard work. Our comprehensive “Total Rewards” program offers a suite of benefits to all employees working 30+ hours per week, including the following:

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance, including physical and mental health services;
  • 401K retirement program with company match;
  • Employee stock purchase plan;
  • Paid parental leave and flexible return to work schedule;
  • Fertility support services and pregnancy consulting services;
  • Life & disability insurance;
  • Tuition reimbursement and employee professional development programs;
  • Employee assistance program;
  • Financial wellness; and
  • Wellness incentives.

We are proud to offer exceptional benefits, such as:

  • As a “remote first” company with over 90% of our workforce choosing to work fully remotely, we all choose where we want to sit down and focus, whether it’s at home, in the office, or a hybrid of both.
  • Our Employee Assistance Program for employees and their families to have face-to-face sessions with a robust network of licensed mental health professionals.
  • Employees in the US are given a discretionary PTO package for flexible days off with manager approval. In all other regions, employees are given “Wellness Days” each year that are used for medical appointments so we can help encourage our employees to take care of themselves.
  • We offer an Employee Stock Purchase Program to all employees who work over 20 hours per week to foster ownership culture.

We are deeply committed to accessibility and work diligently to ensure our benefits program is inclusive and caters to varying needs. For more information on our dedication to accessibility, please visit Accessibility Policy.

Training and Development

At LivePerson, we believe in the value of continuous learning and growth. We have a robust training program, open to all employees, irrespective of their contract duration, which seeks to foster personal and professional development.

Our training initiatives range from comprehensive onboarding for new hires to targeted training sessions that cultivate job-specific skills and promote a wide range of workplace competencies. These programs aim to facilitate our employees’ continual progression and help them remain at the forefront of their respective fields.

In our ongoing commitment to innovation, we offer a highly specialized program focused on conversational AI. Launched in 2020, this four-week seminar-style cohort program ensures our employees stay abreast of the latest AI developments and their transformative impacts on industries and society. This program is enriched with monthly sessions by external AI experts and a podcast series featuring our internal product leaders and AI specialists.

Our commitment to ethical conduct and secure operations is evidenced by our mandatory annual compliance training for all employees, which covers topics such as harassment and discrimination, our Code of Conduct, security, sustainability, data protection, and anti-corruption and anti-bribery measures.

We encourage our employees to continuously evolve their skills and perspectives through diverse opportunities. These include coaching and mentoring, participating in conferences, and job shadowing. To further support our employees in their professional pursuits, we offer a tuition reimbursement program to full-time employees.

Lastly, our annual developmental review process plays a crucial role in our employees’ growth trajectory. This thorough review evaluates employees’ performance and aids in crafting an individual development plan, establishing goals for their continued professional advancement.

Health and Safety

Health and safety stand as vital elements of our work culture. We’ve implemented a comprehensive Health and Safety policy that directs our commitment towards creating a secure working atmosphere and extending to mental health. Part of this dedication is demonstrated through our annual compliance training, a requirement for all our employees, which incorporates  health and safety modules, keeping our team current with the safest and most efficient practices.

In the light of our remote work setting, it’s integral that these safety norms extend beyond our company’s physical boundaries. To this end, we encourage each employee to tailor their personal workspaces in harmony with our guidelines. Moreover, our emergency response plan prepares our team with the necessary procedures to contend with unpredictable situations. This collective approach seeks to ensure a consistent safety culture across our globally distributed workforce, upholding our commitment to health and safety.

Employee Engagement

We are committed to fostering a supportive and transparent work environment through continuous employee feedback and engagement. We have a structured 7, 30, 60, and 90-day survey process for new hires to assess their experience and gather feedback that informs improvements for all employees wherever possible.

In addition to our annual employee engagement survey, we conduct regular pulse surveys to gauge employee perspectives, including how they feel about the transparency of leadership. These insights help us refine our priorities and enhance the overall employee experience.

We also prioritize open communication between employees and leadership. Our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) holds regular Q&A sessions where employees can submit questions—either publicly or confidentially—and receive direct responses from the SLT. Furthermore, our monthly town halls offer a platform to recognize employees who have gone above and beyond, fostering a culture of appreciation and recognition.

We are proud to support several Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), which provide spaces for employees to connect, share experiences, and promote inclusivity across the company. These ERGs play a vital role in shaping our culture of belonging and contribute to our broader Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA) initiatives.

More information on our DEIA efforts, including details on our ERGs, can be found on the webpage linked below.

Community Engagement

At LivePerson, we believe in giving back to the communities where we live and work. In 2023, our global teams participated in over 550 hours of community service, with employees in Israel, Bulgaria, Japan, and Australia hosting events that focused on honoring local cultures, combating food insecurity, and conserving the environment. These efforts are a cornerstone of our culture and reflect our commitment to making a positive impact beyond the workplace.

Building on this, we are proud to introduce our 2024 Global Volunteer Day, where employees from around the world will come together to contribute to their local communities. From addressing food insecurity to protecting the environment, our teams will engage in a variety of impactful projects. This global initiative highlights our dedication to fostering positive change and encourages employees to actively participate in making a difference wherever they are.

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accessibility

We believe that diverse and inclusive teams drive innovation, creativity, and productivity. We are committed to the daily work to foster equity, inclusion, and belonging. Our DEI&A efforts are bolstered by a strong non-discrimination policy, ensuring all employees and job applicants are treated fairly and evaluated on their skills and qualifications alone. In the last three years we’ve worked to create an employee-driven culture that promotes connection and belonging and empowers our people to deliver the most authentically empathetic AI at scale.

More information on our DEI&A initiatives can be found on LivePerson’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility webpage, including our most recent Annual Report.
